Best Membrane Keyboards for Typing
Keyboard and Mouse are the devices which we use to interact with our computer. Either of them are not going be replaced soon and essential for every computer user. Without them you cannot instruct your computer or provide inputs.
Importance of a Good Keyboard
Having a good quality keyboard and Mouse not only gives good aesthetic feeling. But also helps improve work efficiency and performance.
If you write blogs or code on a regular basis, then having a good keyboard is essential for you. It will not only give you a good experience but also help you complete your work more smoothly and easily.
- Good feedback/response while typing
- Reduced mistyping
- Improved typing speed
The problem is that, most people do not understand how to choose a keyboard which will give them most pleasure while typing / working. And Most of the keyboard manufacturers do not specify typing quality / experience of a membrane keyboard. Hence it is very difficult to choose and buy the one which fits our purpose.
That is why I created this post to help you choose a good keyboard for typing. All the keyboards I have recommended in this post, I have already tried, tested and used it for quite a few days. These keyboards are very very good for only one purpose, typing.
Types of Membrane Keys
Unlike mechanical keyboard / keys, membrane keys do not have any specific type. Rather they are generally known as membrane keyboard as per their physical structure. However, depending on key behaviors I have divided membrane keys in two categories, elevated keys and flat(chicklet) keys.
Elevated Keys or Full Travel Keys

Elevated keys or as the name says, this kind of keys are elevated in the keyboard to increase key travel. This kind of keys are good if you want to play games, as you do not wish to press the switches accidentally. However, these elevated membrane keys are not good for typing as you need to press long and also the keys are not sturdy / rigid.
Chicklet Keys or Flat Keys or Short Travel Keys

As you can understand from the name, chicklet keys allows short key travel as they are not elevated. Due to this, these keys are also termed as Flat keys.
This kind of keys are very rare and are mostly available in laptops. However companies do not provide good quality chicklet keys in low budget laptops. If you buy high range laptops, you will definitely understand the difference between typing experience. And this is because of the high quality Chicklet keys.
Now depending upon your requirement, you can choose and buy a keyboard of your choice. However, in this post I have only shared few chicklet membrane keyboards and you can buy any of them as per your budget. All of them are excellent for typing.
